بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful.
1
أَرَءَيْتَ ٱلَّذِى يُكَذِّبُ بِٱلدِّينِ
ara aytal ladhī yukadhhibu bid dīn
HAVE YOU SEEN him who denies the Day of Judgement?
2
فَذَٰلِكَ ٱلَّذِى يَدُعُّ ٱلْيَتِيمَ
fadhālikal ladhī yadu``ul yatīm
It is he who pushes the orphan away,
3
وَلَا يَحُضُّ عَلَىٰ طَعَامِ ٱلْمِسْكِينِ
walā yaḥuḍḍu `alā ṭa`āmil miskīn
And does not induce others to feed the needy.
4
فَوَيْلٌ لِّلْمُصَلِّينَ
fawaylul lil-muṣallīn
Woe to those who pray
5
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ عَن صَلَاتِهِمْ سَاهُونَ
alladhīna hum `an ṣalātihim sāhūn
But who are oblivious of their moral duties,
6
ٱلَّذِينَ هُمْ يُرَآءُونَ
alladhīna hum yurā-ūn
Who dissimulate
7
وَيَمْنَعُونَ ٱلْمَاعُونَ
wayamna`ūnal mā`ūn
And withhold things of common use (from others).
